Lionel, What editor are you using?
This might happen if you opened an UTF-8 encoded file with a non-UTF-8 aware editor or if you opened your file with the wrong encoding, modified and saved it in another encoding (ANSI or ISO-8859-1). In that case, there might be two or three odd characters at the begining of the file, before the <?xml ... ?> prolog. Try to delete the entire line with the XML prolog and to rewrite it.
