Fair enough. Surely it shouldn't be hard to extend the random input module to be able to handle {random:10} or {random:20}? Assuming someone needs it. Or even {random:1-20}.

But in this special case - how do I pass the number of the files found by the directory generator to the input module?
I guess the XSLT calculation method is quite suitable for this very application.
