Xalan Problem

 I noticed a few releases ago that cocoon.xconf was peppered with 
 at
the end of every line.

There was a post about this , and the consensus seemed to be not to worry
about it. But now I am stuck. I am using woody and xsp together, so my forms
are coming out:

<textarea>
&#13;
some text&#13;
more text.&#13;
a little more text&#13;
&#13;
</textarea>

So whats happening is everytime soemone edits something... the carriage
returns are doubled.

How can i make &#13; go away?
