Has anyone else seen this project: http://www.ejbsolutions.com/products.html
I like the concept, but I was very disappointed to see that Cocoon was not included - I wrote the following email to them: *** "I am very interested in the Out-of-the-Box project and concept - I hope that you continue to get support and publicity for what is a clearly needed initiative in the move to OS (and will be using your site in my own personal attempts to push the case for OS). I have just one complaint/suggestion - where is Cocoon?! If XML is one of the exciting and useful technologies to emerge in the last few years, then the ability to actually work cohesively and comprehensively with XML is delivered by Cocoon. I have been a "user" since the late 90's and have seen it being built-up from a simple servlet to a fully-featured framework for web application development (including portals,, web-forms and the like), supported by a growing, loyal and helpful community. I cannot stress this enough; while tools like FOP and Xalan are useful on their own, they only become really powerful when integrated into a proper framework. I would ask you to consider "upgrading" your CD to include Cocoon in future editions." *** Perhaps if we are serious about seeing Cocoon established as a major force in the OS arena, then other could also write to this company and suggest that Cocoon be included.... or do we really want them all to use Struts?!!
