i ran into similar probs when setting up a logkit.xconf.debug and a logkit.xconf.production with a logkit.xconf symlink (this is using tomcat latest 4.x) - it didn't work and didn't find a solution for it.

just a wild thought, does creating hard links help?

On linux, I want to mount my Cocoon webapp via a symbolic link. E.g.
/home/web/cocoon --> /home/web/cocoon-2.1.3

However, when I start up Jetty,

12:21:28.683 WARN!! Alias request of 'file:/home/web/cocoon-2.1.3/WEB-INF/logkit.xconf' for 'file:/home/web/cocoon/WEB-INF/logkit.xconf'
Logging Error: Could not set up Cocoon Logger, will use screen instead
java.io.FileNotFoundException: /WEB-INF/logkit.xconf (No such file or directory)

So, because of this symbolic link, it seems to refuse to read my config files (including cocoon.xconf), thus rendering it not possible to use Cocoon, as it can't find the Cocoon servlet.

Any ideas?
