I guess this is directed mostly to Carsten, but someone may have more knowledge on this one than me. I'm looking at the RefresherImpl - it's really beautifully straight forward. My only issue is when combining it with UpdateTarget. I understand why UpdateTarget was done the way it was, however I'm not entirely sure that its method of invoking a URI externally is safe with my config (I'm using external cache validity, and I'm running on several load balanced machines, using Mod JK with Tomcat - so I can't use localhost:8080 to call the URL or anything similar.)
The TestCronJob is of a good deal of interest to me - and I'm planning on changing it slightly to map to the same parameter configuration as UpdateTarget (basically to make the two inter-operable.) This is a fairly simple task - but I thought I'd check and see if anyone has done something similar - using TestCronJob as a basis for calling an internal pipeline for re-caching as triggered by RefresherImpl.
I must say a lot of this deserves to be out of the scratchpad and into the core as soon as possible - it's looking really good! Very elegant!
