Look fwd to your "report back" - I will also read the article
with more attention to details and try and see where the
hooks are hidden - the text *did* imply the frameworks
were loosely coupled....

As previously mentioned, I am trying to do something similar "in my
copious free time" (TM). I'm not so sure that plugging Cocoon in place
of Struts is as easy as it might seem, since AFAIU Spring has some
hooks
already in place for dealing with Struts.
