Doesn't this typically mean there should be a Javascript function called "forms"??  
I've looked
EVERYWHERE.  I finally gave up and spent time writing my own version of what it was 
doing.  Which
wasn't too bad (after a lot of trial and error and guessing) but it's frustrating.. 
and I'm really
curious... although I'm sure I'll feel silly when (if) somebody tells me the answer.

You seem to have an older version of this file (the method is renamed to handleForm() in the meantime) or even an older file but it should be at the same place.
