Starting outside might be a good idea to experiment freely - but for me, assuming good stuff comes out of this "docs fork", it should move here quickly to avoid fragmentation and gain full support of this community.
We do the same for code: there's a scratchpad where people are encouraged to try whatever they want to try, but the aim is for stuff there to be good enough to move into the main code tree.
