Apache Cocoon is an established platform for content management and multi-channel publishing. However, Cocoon also offers a robust framework for building dynamic web applications. An important use of Cocoon is to implement the fundamental model-view-controller architecture in an application.
This presentation will examine a number of notable features that Cocoon offers for building web applications, and demonstrate an ecommerce web site built using Cocoon. The examples are taken from a recent development project for Five Star Alliance (http://www.fivestaralliance.com), an on line luxury travel reservations service. Specific topics will include the following.
