Ask a virus writer. :)

There is no way you can do that transparently, and this in on purpose
(note, this is not a Cocoon limitation). You might have some success
with signed applets and trustful users, but in any case it's a very
bad idea altogether. Have your desktop applications read such files
from the network, it's much safer.
