The fact that it is not in the docs makes it a bit tough to point out.
I would suspect that the right place to mention it is somewhere near
where the installation procedure talks about the xalan libraries.
Perhaps that section should be rewritten to handle the case where one
already has the latest xalan libraries already installed under Tomcat
and/or Java lib/endorsed and expanded to talk about the need to install
ALL of the libraries that are included in the cocoon endorsed library
folder.
This might be Eclipse dependent but I also recall a problem with
ant-contrib. I do not think that there is any mention of the need to
install that in your java endorsed library in order to get the build to
work. It may be installed for cocoons usage after the build is done but
I seem to recall that it is used in the buld itself. It probably should
be included in the cocoon endoresed library with the documentation
telling the user to put it in the java lib/endorsed directory. Perhaps
someone can verify if I am right about this.
I tried to get the Cocoon build to work under Eclipse but there is
something funny in the build that screwed up the references between the
libraries at run-time. Cocoon built successfully but would not run.
I was able to get Lenya to build OK under Eclipse except for a problem
with the internationalization - my labels all come out as "untranslated".

I had not copied the endorsed jars to the java endorsed library.
The instructions only mention the xalan libraries which had already
done to get Lenya working(as far as it does). They do not mention
that all of the endorsed libraries must be copied.
Can you fill a bug or point where is the document you are refering
above? I want to fix this for other people. ;-)

Antonio Gallardo.
