I did the following:

I put an addittioanl setTimeToLive method to the WebContinuation Class
and used
this
method in my javaflow class. so i was able to manipulate the timetolive
attribut of the webcontinuation object.

i tried to set the value 1 (second), but the effect was, that i still was able
to use the sendpage method, although the continuation object was expired.

bottomline, i'm now able to manipulate the timetolive value, but the problem
seems to be somewhere else. perhaps i changed the wrong webcontinuation object
-i'm a little bit confused.

i have to do more checks and will report soon.

Hi Kris,

thank you for your hints. Writing an own flow interpreter seems to be quite
difficult. Is there a more easy solution anywhere?

Not that I'm aware of. A good starting point is to simply extend
JavaInterpreter and override the "configure" method to do what you
need. You'll also need to modify your cocoon.xconf to use your new
interpreter:

<flow-interpreters default="java" logger="flow">
 <component-instance name="java" class="my.package.MyJavaInterpreter"
time-to-live="..."/>
</flow-interpreters>
