Hi all,

Just wondering:
Why not use mod_jk and AJP to connect from apache to tomcat? I found out
earlyer mod_jk2 is not developed anymore and most functionality is integrated
back into mod_jk. I have set up apache 2.0, SSL, mod_jk and mod_rewrite. Static
content is served by apache. And both http and https have acces to the same
cocoon instance (which is good for keeping up the sessions). Well, in two
words: it works :)

Are there specific benefits from using mod_proxy with cocoon when we take
aspects like ssl, speed, load balancing towards multiple cocoonservers etc?

I did some googling and did not find a satisfying answer. Maybe some of you
have experience with this.

Regards,
Joost

setup an apache web server as the front-end, in reverse proxy mode, and
handle SSL there.

See http://wiki.apache.org/cocoon/ApacheModProxySsl and
