Impossible to say, it all depends on how the replies to these hits are generated, and your traffic patterns. You need to measure the performance with simulated or actual load to make decisions about this. 10'000 hits a day (86'400 seconds) can be as low as 0.12 per second if evenly spread, which is not much at all. OTOH if these hits come within 2 minutes...you get the idea.

Not that I know, quite the contrary, except that it cannot listen on port 80 then.
