There is a "hello-world" subdirectory in the "samples" directory
created when you install Cocoon.  Shows multiple outputs -
 HTML, PDF, SVG etc from one simple XML file:
 
<page>
 <title>Hello</title>
 <content>
  <para>This is my first Cocoon page!</para>
 </content>
</page>
 
This is about as simple as it gets...
