The calendar pop up should work alone when you define
a date datatype, just like examples.

In respect to the style I think that you cant define
your own style for the pop up because the calendar
style is implicit to the html code of the pop up
window. I mean something like:

<html>
<head>
<title>Calendar</title>
<style>
...
</style>
.
.
.

If the calendar would make some code like:

<link href="calendar.css" .../>

you could map that css in your sitemap to another one
and change the style easily, according to the style of
your application.

It's only a thinking ...

See ya.
