I know what you mean, here in our office everyone call matchers
pipelines too :-)
But that's actually not correct, matchers are just not pipelines. I
explained it recently on the dev list because somebody asked if he can
change this in the documentation [1]. I guess I should add my
explanation to the official documentation.
