Try that after doing bmake on /usr/pkgsrc. It does spawn various sh
processes. Doing killall -9 sh is not very nice :P


Then 'init 6' works well...

Seriously, have you tried simply exiting the shell you invoked it from, or dropping that particular ssh session?
