When editing the disklabel with "disklabel -e vn0s0" just copy the last line ( that starts with "c:" ) and insert another one just like it above and change "c:" with "a:" and change the "unused" keyword with "4.2BSD". This will create the a: partition. Then you should be able to do the newfs. Cheers, Nuno
