    Try reinstalling your packages from scratch.  I had some fairly
    persistent freezing problems on my workstation (i386) until I wiped
    the pkgs entirely and reinstalled them w/ pkg_radd. 

    So far since I redid the pkgs I've seen the firefox endless-loop
    problem once on exit, but it hasn't frozen up on my while running.
