July 4th will mark the 2 year anniversary of the CXF 2.0 release. Since
then, we have released 11 patches to that branch.

However, with the trunk moving on, porting fixes and such back to 2.0.x is
becoming increasingly hard as much code has changed. Also, since we
have created a fixes branch for 2.2.x and moved trunk to 2.3, that makes 4
branches we woudl be maintaining, which is quite a lot. Doing simultaneous
releases like we did with 2.0.11/2.1.5/2.2.1 would mean even more work.

Thus, the CXF developers have decided that 2.0.12 (probably in July some time)
will be the final patch release for the 2.0.x series. Two years of support
with 12 patch releases is pretty good for an open source project. (heck,
that's better than many commercial products) If people need support beyond
that, you can easily grab the code and fix anything you need or there are
other commercial options (such as FUSE from Progress - *shameless plug*).

Anyway, I wanted to "announce" this so people are aware of it and can plan
accordingly. I HIGHLY encourage anyone still on 2.0.x to start working on
migrating up to 2.2.x. For that matter, I encourage folks on 2.1.x to work
on migrating as well. :-)
