Hi all, Thanks for your feedback. I agree. The incubator tag in no way diminishes the amount of good effort already put into Abdera. From a product perspective, I was just concerned about customer related issues. Right now, I'm working on a "framework" product. End users will extend this framework, so they will do the packaging/deployment/etc. If I was building a self-contained product, I would be less concerned.
But I do see that Abdera has been out of incubation since Nov 08, so I'm less concerned now. Hopefully I can get into using Abdera a lot more and perhaps even contribute! -Vinh -----Original Message----- From: Daniel Kulp [mailto:[email protected]] Sent: Tuesday, June 30, 2009 9:32 AM To: [email protected] Cc: Vinh Nguyen (vinguye2) Subject: Re: Abdera dependencies As Benson mentioned, the incubator tag is a reflection of community maturity, not code maturity. That said, Abdera did graduate out of the incubator a while ago. However, they haven't done a release yet since they graduated. They seem to be working on a 1.0 release, but being fairly slow at it. (I'm sure they would appreciate some help if anyone is interested) That said, I WOULD like to see them put in "provided" scope and make sure CXF would work without them (except for atom/pub based things, obviously).
