You may also want to look at the CXF system tests (check out the source code, 
they are in the systests folder) for working examples as well.

To understand how WS-S works, I recommend trying to read the WS-S, WS-S 
UsernameToken Profile, and WS-S X509Token Profile specs.  They aren't easy 
reads, but they will have all of the answers or at least prepare you with 
enough knowledge to Google for more details.

Out of curiosity, where are you getting the key material for the signature?  
PKI, Username Token derived, other?
