I noticed that there is a note on the project site stating that HTTP binding will be removed from CXF at some point in the future. Is this required to employ REST style web services with CXF and if not, then what is the preferred non HTTP-binding approach to rest services with CXF? Can it be done using JAX-RS purely via CXF? I am also interested in approaches or patterns for implementing say a web service which can be called via REST, standard RPC and deliver results in either SOAP or JSON. That is a nice thing to have when building a publicly consumable service for your software and I was wondering if anyone has done something similar to this with CXF. It seems as though this might be possible to achieve this strictly through configuration, but I don’t know. Does anyone have any experience or thoughts on this? Thanks!
