I'm not sure what you mean by "ahead" when you speak chronologically
(The STS is "ahead" of the client). If my watch says 5:15pm and your
watch is five minutes "ahead" of mine, does your watch say 5:20pm or
5:10pm? I believe most nowadays would mean the former, but traditional
English might mean the latter, so I'm confused...
Anyway, I assume getting the STS (or WSC&WSP) clock accurate is not an
option for you?

From the documentation on the cxf page though, the timeToLive property is
the amount of time to append to a creation of a timestamp to determine
validity, which would be what we would need if our STS was behind our client
and service. Unfortunately our STS is ahead of both. :(
