I think you can experiment with either
- creating a composite MessageBodyReader which would have JAX-RS
Providers context injected and which would delegate to it in all but the
cases when the underlying readers need to be blocked
- with CXF 2.7.x - try either ClientResponseFilter or ReaderInterceptor
to block the given reader
