One thing I also recall is that starting from 2.7.8 & 2.7.9 the response
content-type calculation has changed, you may be having
Accept: application/javascript
and in 2.6.9 it was working due the calculation being done too late, I
don;t recall the details now, but in 2.7.8+ you have the response
content-type calculated much earlier, so you probably have it set to
application/javascript which JSONProvider does not understand, so
basically, you probably will configure to support application/javascript
via its 'producesTypes' property, I think I did something similar to fix
JSONP tests in CXF 2.7.8,
