jax_rs/basic demo works for me, no problems, 2.7.16-SNAPSHOT.
spring_security demo was failing as I did not push the patch from 3.0.x
to 2.7.x to do with updating Spring Security dependencies - I've just
got it fixed. Try CXF 3.0.5 - I've checked these demos, they are OK...
