Sorry, it's the beloved MySQL server I'm dealing with atm. And it is the
version 3.23.x and the org.gjt.mm.mysql.Driver.

On Windows the MyODQC Driver 2.50.xx is in use and shows the same
behaviour. That one throws an error and has the error reporting stuff
installed, are you interested in the report? (I did not mail it until
now, since the version is relatively old)

I think I'll try again on a testing installation with something newer,
