While creating a table using the latest development build, I was asked
which schema should contain the table. My two choices were
INFORMATION_SCHEMA and PUBLIC. Which schema should I use and why? The
default is INFORMATION_SCHEMA.
My expectation was that it should be stored in PUBLIC, but the default
is the other. I was not able to actually create the tables to see if I
could notice a difference, because the table creation wizard always
crashed when I selected Finish. Then again, the wizard had some other
problems as well :-(
This lead me to ask, what is the definition of CATALOG and SCHEMA, as
they relate to OpenOffice.org.
