Hi Gert,
I put up a working example of doing this on the Base form at OOOforums.

Take a look and see if it helps.

Hi Gert,
Assume I have two table fields Qty and CostPrice. How can I create a form
field that displays the result of Qty * CostPrice?
You cannot do this in a form, but in a query. Create a query which
contains all fields of interest, plus "Qty * CostPrice", and base your
form on this query.
Ciao

Well but that wouldn't be updated until you save the form. Better way
would maybe be writing a Macro which listens on the focus events of the
2 fields and updates the 3rd one?
