As a non-technical user I fully support the above. I learned my programming on COBOL, Fortran and Neat3 (giving my age away I guess :-) ). By the time C, C++, VB and the various scripting dialects came out, I was in IT management and while I always understood the concepts, there was never time to learn these at bit level. (I managed people who did). I know the fundamentals of Basic and am quite fluent in SQL and have been working with form and report generators for years. As I mentioned in another post, with these limited skills I can do some quite fancy stuff in MSA, but not (yet) in Base. I guess the responsible OOo managers have to make a call who their target audience is, people like me or the hot shot developers. > However so far, I have always come across the stumbling block > that is MSA. Dare I say that there are probably thousands of companies out there with the same attitude, i.e. a huge market. > > I really do hope the big differences in ease of use between > Base and MSA are addressed soon, because once we are there, I > can guarantee that MS would loose over 2000 license > subscriptions overnight, and that's just for where I work!! I so agree. Cheers Gert --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED] For additional commands, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED]
