I am using
OOo 2.0 on WinXP SP2, also with MySQL and it is working beautifully. So it's
probably something in either your set-up or your software versions (or
both).
Wrt loading
the JDBC driver please check the KB at http://mindmeld.cybersite.com.au/index.php.
Just type in JDBC in search field and there are loads of good
articles.
Wrt the
software versions, you must make sure that you have the latest JDBC driver and
JRE 5.0 (Aka 1.5). Both you'll find on sun.com somewhere.
Just
persevere, because it works fine (assuming you are on WinXP as well, I can't
comment for the the various Linux dialects.).
