Yes, indeed. This pops up from time to time, and I think it's really
missing from the API (though non-trivial to implement due to the
control-shape duality). Not sure if there already is an issue for it, IZ
doesn't work currently.

Well, it is invisible. However, there might be situations where it's
switched visible, again. I know that for controls in spreadsheets
controls mighjt re-appear upon switching sheets. I don't know whether
there exist similar problems in Writer. Basically, since you only make
the peer of a control invisible, this might (but not necessarily will)
be overruled anytime by the control itself.
