Hi Frank,
thank you for your message.
What's so wrong with using the "Anything more you want to appear here? Write us!"-button on http://dba.openoffice.org/FAQ/common.html?

To reply to your question: I am using JDBC directly.

Hi Hinrich,

I'm answering your mail in our project's users mailing list,
[EMAIL PROTECTED] Please note that this list is the better place
for questions as yours than mailing me directly. This is a matter of
scaling (more people than me could potentially answer) and a matter of
sharing knowlege (more people than you could read the potential answer).>
I'd like to ask you to also reply to this list. You can post to it
without being subscribed, however your mails need to pass moderation
then, which can cause delays. Best way is to subscribe to the list at
http://dba.openoffice.org/servlets/ProjectMailingListList. If you prefer
newsgroups over mailing lists: news.gmane.org mirrors the list.

With OpenOffice.org 2.0.1 I am using mySQL (version 3.23.55.) as database, the connection driver is JDBC (8.0.0.8971). My problem is I can't make any changes to the database, except creating new colums. When trying to edit a table via "tables > edit" all the fields are greyed out. I do not have the problem when working with a dBase-database using Openoffice.org Base as frontend I can access the mySQL database via mySqlAdmin and make any change I like, no problem. All tables have a primary key and I do not use any 'forbidden' characters in colum names like äüö. I studied tutorials, groups, tips 'n' tricks and so forth but could not find an answer to my problem. If there is an answer other then "You cannot change a database once it is created." please let me know!

Are you using MySQL/JDBC or JDBC directly (verify in
Edit|Database|Connection Type)?

Ciao
Frank
