Hi Regina,

If I use "query" or "sql" for "type of list contents", it works as expected. Then I try to use "table" for "type of list contents". But then I always get an error: "Value too long in statement." In the drop-down-list of "List content" I see the tables of the database and can select one. So I thought, that this tables can be used.

They can - else this option wouldn't be there. Hmm, okay, else this
option shouldn't be there ;)

Sounds like a speciality of your setup/database. Do you have an
example-.odb?

See http://www.rhenschel.homepage.t-online.de/tinyexample.odb
You should open the tableview of the form in addition to see the whole table content.

Sorry to jump in on another issue, but the following may possibly be related.

Either I'm totally confused (very likely) or there are some bugs associated with List boxes that are preventing me from getting a foothold on understanding them correctly. For example, could someone try the example .odb attached to the following issue:

http://qa.openoffice.org/issues/show_bug.cgi?id=62771

The comment in the issue dated /Mar 7 07:00:09 -0700 2006 /explains one of the problems that I'm having. I.e. truncated SQL statements in the list property.

The earlier comments in the issue probably show how confused I am over List boxes. I think I got them working once with an earlier version of OOo, but have not been able to anything with them recently. Some nice working examples of the various options would help considerably. I've tried reading the on-line Help but I'm not really making any progress.

Ross

kind regards
Regina
