Frank: The error I get happens when I try to install the "desktop
integration" RPM for the "mdb" ver.: It claims it's missing "core-01",
despite the successful installation of the files under "RPMS". The only
way to avoid this error is to first install ver. 2.0.3. Having done so,
I've tried re-installing the "mdb" ver. both as an upgrade and as an
"original" install, same results in both cases. The desktop-integration
RPM for the mdb ver. (I use Redhat) has the following problems:
        1) If I install it without first installing 2.0.3, it says it's missing
core-01.
        2) If I install it subsequent to 2.03:
                a) Using RPM -i: Refuses, unless I use --force, in which case it
complains about a conflict with the previous (2.0.3) ver.
                b) Using RPM -U: Appears to install OK
It appears that I get the same resulting files, no matter whether I use
-U or -i. This applies to both the mdb & 2.0.3 versions. Also, I don't
get the mdb driver menu selection choice in the wizard unless I manually
install sdbc-mdb---.zip per the instructions, regardless of the
installation process described above. This all used to work OK in the
past (believe I was using the "mdb" ver. at the time), but the computer
crashed due to an unrelated problem, at which point I re-installed FC4,
along with all applications. I presently have no reason to believe this
is related to the current problem, but I'm not sure. So far, all
applications work fine, including openoffice (except for the mdb
aspect). Again, mdbtools works fine on a stand-alone basis.
Regards,
Steve
