OO: OpenOffice After trial of BeanShell in OO on connection from Calc to Base, OO Base GUI can no longer access the Tables section. 2.0.3 OO Base has been working fine for some time prior to the BeanShell connection trial.
symptom 1: launch OO Base create new database no registration, open for editing should see GUI displaying "Database" in left pane Selection of "Queries", "Forms", "Reports" are all OK. Selection of "Tables" results in a complaint message popup window. window title: OpenOffice.org Base window content: The connection to the data source "test 01" could not be established. General error: java.lang.NullPointerException symptom 2: launch OO Calc (using Calc as the GUI and report generator for Base) View - Data Source select one of the data sources previously registered with OO select any of the table section same access failure The new *.odb files do not contain "database/*" yet. The same problem occurs for existing *.odb files. All data in existing *.odb files are not accessible through OO Base or OO Calc (using "data explorer"). Complete removal of OO followed by reinstallation does not eliminate the problem. Is this a known problem? Advice is appreciated on how to identify the root cause and hopefully to correct this access failure. Thanks.
