There is, ceretainly.

BTW, did I mention I'm quite impressed what one can do with our

Not sure whether this works with your approach, but FYI: HSQL has an
undocumented feature: "SET TABLE <table> SOURCE HEADER <header_line>"
sets, well, a header line for the named text table. Not sure whether you
can use this.
