FYI - Here is the statement I put on the OOoForum board about this:
The installation files pointed to by todays GullFOSS blog entry are from a developers private build area. If you are running windows and install this file your current stable version of OOo 2.0 - 2.2 will be removed. None of the files you have created will be touched, but all modules for OOo will be replaced by this new release. The code for the modules other then the new report designer appears to be from an earlier milestone then the currently available 2.3 developers build and there are bugs. You can do this for testing, and then if you want to revert back to the stable build you will have to do the following: Using the Windows Add / Remove programs - remove OpenOffice Then you can re-install your stable copy of OOo. As far as I can determine there will be no loss of any custom libraries, extensions or files during this process. Be aware that if you add any Report Designer files into a Base database file then revert to an earlier version of OOo, attempting to open these in the earlier version will generate an error dialog - The file can not be opened! - There is no corruption with your database in general, this is simply because the older OOo program does not know how to work with these files.
