Yes. It might be a separate step [1], but since issue 76218 (which
requires this) is targeted for 2.x, it's still planned for 3.0, at the
latest.

[1] In preparation of fixing issue 52527 and issue 73705, I just spent
3 days re-factoring yet another piece of macro related framework
code, which was 2 days more than expected. So, it seems I have to
expect more yet unknown traps when implementing this, which might
result in breaking it into smaller steps.
And I'll be entering another Issue, unless it is there already...with
the latest dev build you can not paste anything into the basic editor,
it throws an error.
