I don't know what you mean. I never saw permission problems using a
connection between MySQl and OOo.
I have used such applications since more than two years.

Writing permissions was a common issue in the past with MySQL there was even a macro written to force a Grant ALL permission on MySQL which it seems is very popular since it keeps comming up on the dba.openoffice.org
