Hi,

the announcement in GullFOSS will have to wait 'til next week (I'm officially on vacation ATM :), but I wanted to let interested parties here know that you can get your hands on milestone 1 of the "Macros in Database Documents" feature.

Download location:
http://ooo.services.openoffice.org/pub/OpenOffice.org/cws/upload/odbmacros2/

Release Notes:
http://ooo.services.openoffice.org/pub/OpenOffice.org/cws/upload/odbmacros2/OOo_2.4.238.odbmacros.m1_release_notes.txt

Feature Specification:

If you want to find the bugs I introduced *before* they hit the master builds, then this is your chance :)
Feedback is appreciated here in the list, as always.

Thanks & Ciao
Frank

Quick feedback and maybe help for anyone else.

After installing ( I know I didn't have to, but when it wouldn't work as expected I tried ) this package and opening the supplied macros.odb file from the <install dir>/user/database directory I could not get the 'Local Hello' procedure to run - Tried setting trusted path, setting security level to LOW - nothing, click on the toolbar button and nothing happens, try to run it from the Macro menus and get a security notification.

However - I then created a new Base file, added a basic library to this file and copied in the macro from your supplied database - it works just fine from this new file, with security set to high and a trusted path set. This includes showing the different results for sub components ( table, query, form designers - haven't tried reports yet ) as expected...nice.

Anyway - I'll have to stop for now as Sydney the 'wonder lab' is in the room with me and after reading your warnings and given she is a dog in prime pup bearing age...well...*smile*.

Till later

Drew
