Hi, I changed this issue from defect to enhancement the other day.
As it would of course happen the next day two folks on the forum piped up because for them trying to open a mdb directly, the wrong way in other words, does not just quietly do nothing- they say it crashes OO.o. It appears to be a matter of size. The largest mdb file have here is not all that large < 60 Megs.
This weekend one of the forum users is going to transfer his > 280Meg mdb file to my ftp server so that I can try with that one.
In fact he says it crashes even after creating the Base file to connect to it properly..so I'll give it a try.
I was wondering has anyone had the same problem with large mdb files crashing OO.o
Anyway just to let you know that it appears I will change issue 86043 back to a defect, but will wait to try this larger file first.
