Hi all,
on the first try on SuSe I couldn't make it work: I got an error
Can't connect to local MySQL server through socket '/tmp/mysql.sock' (2)
this error is produced because the mysql client shipped with the
extension is trying to establish a connection to the local MySQL server
through a socket located in /tmp/mysql.sock, while in SuSe the default
installation for the system tables et al. is in /var/lib/mysql/, so
there is also located the socket mysql.sock
Although this is not a very big issue (even the dumbest user can Google
that error message and find a suitable workaround), could this be fixed
by adding some driver property setting or whatever?
Another point: the second page of the "new database" wizard is very
cryptic, a not experienced user may feel lost in front of this lonely
text box.
Regards
Ariel.
