The extension contains native (binary) code, thus it is only compatible with binary packages created in the very same environment. The OpenOffice.org version distributed by SuSE is binary incompatible to the "vanilla" OpenOffice.reg version, and thus also to the MySQL Connector. I do not know whether SuSE also provides a version of the connector, built in their own environment. This would be your only chance for trying the connector.
