A short while back in the ux mailing list the proposition was posed that
OpenOffice.org would be better off if Base where split off from the main
package.
Not long after that in dba mailing lists the question 'How to disable
Base from OO.o installations?'
Today I received the OO.o email newsletter with a reference to this
article, "Why OpenOffice.org Failed – and What to Do About It" -
http://www.e-linux.it/news_detail.php?id=6714
I noted a particular line in reference to the Belgian Federal Public
Service decision NOT to go with OO.o for their office suite:
".... The difficulty of converting macros, and the use of customised
apps in Microsoft Access, were the two biggest obstacles."
Till later,
Drew
