Too late now for 3.1, but if you create an issue and assign to mod,
you'll most probably have it for 3.2. (The HTML source view can do
this already, so this sounds like an easy and fast job to do ;-))
At least I am not blind! :)

cws sqlsyntaxhighlighting was integrated into to-be m37, so you will
have that for sure in 3.1. Combined with the fixed keyboard
shortcuts for Mac, your life should be a lot easier now :-)
