Hi,
I was reading
http://wiki.services.openoffice.org/wiki/Connecting_to_Microsoft_Access
when I tried to install "2007 Office System Driver: Data Connectivity
Components" in a Windows 2000 workstation. Then an error message told
me that "Windows XP or later" is required.
So...is it impossible to open a .accdb file in a Windows 2000
workstation using BrOffice 3.0? Have anybody done this before?
Thank you for your attention.
Hello Pablo,
In this article:
http://www.everythingaccess.com/tutorials.asp?ID=Using-an-Access-2007-(.accdb)-back-end-database-in-an-Access-2000%2B-front-end-application
the author states that this is supported with MS Windows 2000 forward.
Doing some looking around on the MSDN site and other I can't find any
other references that claim this - so, it might be worth your time to
drop a line to the author there and ask about installing the latest DAO
(ADO) driver under Win2000.
HTH
Drew
ps - if you do get a successful solution please drop a line back here
and we could update the wiki page.
